Incumbent government irresponsible and arbitrary: UML Chair Oli

In a scathing critique, Chairman of the main opposition CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, has labeled the incumbent government as irresponsible. During Tuesday’s House of Representatives meeting, Oli expressed strong disapproval of the current ruling coalition and government, highlighting their perceived negligence towards the welfare of the people and the nation.

Indefinite curfew clamped in Nepalgunj

The District Administration Office Banke has imposed an indefinite curfew within Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city. Chief District Officer Bipin Acharya announced the curfew, effective from 1 pm on Tuesday. This move comes in response to escalating religious tensions that have gripped Nepalgunj in recent days.

Police arrest three individuals, including Chinese in 11 kg gold smuggling case

In connection with the seizure of 11 kg of gold in Dolakha, three more individuals have been apprehended, including a Chinese citizen. The individuals arrested include Gengru, identified as a Chinese national and an associate of his named Sanat Pradhan, along with Lal Bahadur Tamang, who was involved in the buying and selling of gold.

Govt blacklists 20 underperforming companies

The government has taken action against 20 companies that have failed to meet satisfactory performance standards. The Public Procurement Monitoring Office, operating under the Prime Minister’s Office, has officially blacklisted these underperforming entities.

International conference on lightning taking place tomorrow

A three-day international conference on lightning and mitigating its impact in Nepal is taking place in Lalitpur from tomorrow. The conference will bring together 100 participants including experts from various countries, Nepal included. Experts from India, America, Brazil, France, Sweden, Israel, Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, among other countries will be attending the conference.

Gold price down by Rs 1,300 per tola today

Gold price decreased by Rs 1,300 per tola in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been set at Rs. 106,600 per tola, while standard gold is being traded at Rs. 106,100 per tola. The precious yellow metal was valued at Rs. 107,900 per tola, and standard gold at Rs. 107,400 per tola on Monday.

Unidentified assailants kill young man in New Road

An unidentified group of assailants have attacked brutally to a young man leading to his death in New Road, Kathmandu on Monday evening. The victim, a young man who had come to New Road to witness the Indrajatra festival, fell victim to this vicious assault, succumbing to his injuries while en route to the hospital.
