Do not link Prime Minister’s visit to India with arms procurement: Minister Sharma



KATHMANDU: The government has clarified that the issue of arms procurement has not come before the Council of Ministers.

while announcing the decisions of the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology and government spokesperson Rekha Sharma clarified that no proposal has come from the Ministry of Defense regarding the weapons to be purchased by the Nepali Army.

There had been some reports of late that the Nepali Army is preparing to purchase arms worth Rs 6 billion from China.

Spokesperson Sharma said that the arms issue with China will not affect Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s visit to India.
