KATHMANDU: The registration of nominations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) member by-elections is scheduled for today (Monday).
The Election Commission has scheduled by-elections in the Chitwan electoral constituency-2, Tanahu-1 and Bara-2 on April 23.
By-poll in Chitwan-2 is required after Rabi Lamichhane who was elected to the HoR during the November 20 election was relieved of the post with the Supreme Court’s verdict over his citizenship issue while it is needed in Tanahu-2 after the-then lawmaker Ram Chandra Paudel was appointed on the post of President and it will be taking place in Bara-2 with Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav’s appointment on the post of Vice President.
The Office of Chief Election Commissioner was established on Saturday in view of the HoR by-elections.
