Nepal and India sign seven agreements to boost cooperation in areas, including trade and energy

Nepal and India on Thursday signed seven agreements to boost cooperation in several areas including trade and energy. Following the bilateral meeting held at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, Prime Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a press conference and announced the signing of various MoUS and agreements.

Nepal and India agree to construct two petroleum pipelines for smooth supply of petroleum products

An agreement has been reached between Nepal and India for the construction of two important pipelines in the ongoing India visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. India would provide around Rs 17 billion for the same. Two petroleum pipeline projects would be constructed while it while Nepal has to construct a storage facility at its own investment.

PM Modi and Nepal PM Pushpa Dahal hold bilateral talks at Hyderabad House

Prime Minister Pushpa Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks at Hyderabad House on Thursday. “Deepening the bonds of friendship and cooperation. PM @narendramodi greets PM @cmprachanda of Nepal as the latter arrives in Hyderabad House for bilateral talks,” Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted when PM Modi greeted ‘Prachanda’ at the Hyderabad House.

PM Dahal and Indian PM Modi commit to address border disputes amicably through dialogue

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi discussed the Nepal-India border issue during a meeting held at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Thursday. Indian Prime Minister Modi said that the border dispute can be resolved through dialogue.

Fourteen mountaineers scale Mt Kanchenjunga today

Fourteen mountaineers including four foreigners have today successfully reached atop Mount Kanchenjunga. The climbers who scaled the third highest peak in the world included Yukta, Phursana, Tej, Mingmar, Dawa Yangjom, Dima, Pasang Dorji and Dima Dawa, and four foreigners (one from the United States, two from Taiwan and one from France), said Mingma David Sherpa, manager of the Elite Expedition, which managed their expedition.

Community schools in Jhapa remain closed to avoid excessive heat

Two local levels in Jhapa district have closed community schools within due to rising temperature. The temperature has soared in Jhapa district to as high as 40 degrees on Wednesday. Mechinagar Municipality has directed all community, religious and institutional schools within to shut classes for two days on June 1-2.
