JANAKPURDHAM: The cabinet expansion has made no headways in the Madhes province.
The task has not made any progress even after three weeks of the formation of a four-member cabinet with Saroj Kumar Yadav as the Chief Minister of the province.
Uncertainty is looming large on the expansion of the province government due to loggerheads among the ruling parties on the power-sharing deal.
An understanding was reached among the ruling parties to allocate a ministry equivalent to five province assembly members.
But, cabinet expansion saw a delay when two parties claimed for the same ministry.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) has demanded two ministries, including social development in the province.
The main ruling partners, CPN-UML and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), are however on consultations to finalize the deal, as informed.
Janamat Party’s parliamentary party leader Mahesh Yadav said, “We have also claimed for the ministry of social development. Our party would instantly present the name for ministerial berth after reaching an understanding on the power-sharing deal”.
