Nepal sees 5,292 new coronavirus cases, 8 deaths in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: The country recorded a total of 5,292 new cases of coronavirus and eight deaths in the past 24 hours as of Monday.

Of the confirmed cases today, 3,472 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 1,820 from the antigen method.

Likewise, there are 1,361 cases in Kathmandu, 90 in Bhaktapur and 271 cases in Lalitpur, taking the Valley’s total to 1,721 cases.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, there were eight coronavirus-related deaths have been added to the COVID-19 death tally in the past 24 hours. With this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country is 11,743 to date.

Currently, there are 79,272 active cases in the country as 8,191 infected patients recovered.
