Nepal imports 42 million doses of vaccines against Covid so far



KATHMANDU: Nepal has imported as many as 42 million doses of vaccines against Covid so far.

Among the imported vaccines, more than 30 million doses have been used, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive for children above 12 years has already begun.

According to the Ministry, 70 percent of the target population above 18 years has received a full dose while 83 percent has received a single dose.

Similarly, 1.8 million people in the age group of 12 to 17 years have got the first dose of vaccination while the 350 thousand got the second dose.

Moreover, nearly 300 thousand people working in the frontline have got the booster dose, according to the Health Ministry.
