KMC needs pro-people mayor: Leader Thapa



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) needed a mayor who is well acquainted with people’s problems.

Speaking at a program organized to unveil a resolution of the mayor candidate of KMC from the Nepali Congress, Srijana Singh, in Kathmandu Thursday, leader Thapa laid an emphasis on the need of making Singh victorious to the post to transform the city.

He opined, “Srijana is not only a daughter-in-law of Ganeshman Singh and the spouse of Prakashman Singh, but also a political figure. The party has done justice to Srijana and given her a ticket for the post. Let’s make her victorious to build a prosperous metropolitan.”

The NC general secretary urged all not to miss the opportunity to elect a woman to the post of mayor of the Kathmandu.

Saying it is the opportunity of the women across the nation to get a woman as the head in the capital, NC Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat urged voters to utilize this opportunity.

He mentioned that Srijana has the significant role in establishment of democracy in the country, adding the NC has made Srijana as the candidate for the post of mayor of KMC for the development of the nation.

On the occasion, Srijana presented a seven-point resolution that as she claimed is capable of transforming the Kathmandu metropolis.
