Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yi reaches Baluwatar to meet PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reached Baluwatar to meet Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

He reached Baluwatar after holding bilateral talks with Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka and the Nepali delegation at Singha Durbar.

A nine-point memorandum of understanding has been signed after the delegation level bilateral talks.

Prior to delegation level talks, Foreign Minister Dr. Narayan Khadka and Chinese Foreign Minister Yi also had a meeting.

After meeting PM Deuba, the Chinese Minister is scheduled to attend a dinner being hosted in his honor by his Nepali counterpart Dr. Khadka.

Chinese Foreign Minister Yi, who arrived in Nepal on Friday for a three-day visit, is scheduled to meet President Bidyadevi Bhandari, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, CPN-Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other leaders on Sunday.

He is scheduled to return home on Sunday.
