Local polls will be held on slated time: PM Deuba

PATAN: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the local level election would be held on the slated time.

Inaugurating the reconstructed Bhimsen Temple at Patan in Lalitpur, PM Deuba shared that the government has started necessary preparations to hold the local polls on the slated time.

He further said that the incumbent government has the task of holding three-tier of election, stating that it was the need of the hour and government’s responsibility to hold elections in free and fearless environment.

PM Deuba mentioned that the support of the private sector in construction of religious heritages is indispensable.

Saying it was necessary to give responsibility to local-level in development activities, he argued that most of the development related activities carried out by local government have good quality.

He expressed the view that the development in Lalitpur Metropolitan City would help to widen the identity of Nepal and Nepali people in international level not only in national level.

Prime Minister Deuba stressed the need of building temples depicting the Nepali uniqueness.

Similarly, Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Chiribabu Maharjan, said that the metropolis has accelerated and completed the reconstruction of religious heritages inside the metropolis, adding the local government has helped to take the country’s development ahead.

Reconstruction of Bhimsen Temple was carried out at the leadership of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Lalitpur Metropolitan City had also provided financial support for the same. The temple was damaged by the Gorkha earthquake and its reconstruction was carried out at a cost of Rs 49.7 million.
