Ruling NC holding talks with main opposition UML at Balkot

KATHMANDU: The leaders of ruling Nepali Congress (NC) and main opposition party CPN-UML have started discussion on the way out for the ongoing political uncertainty.

According to UML sources, NC leaders reached at UML Chairman KP Oli’s Balkot based residence seeking his support to pierce through the ongoing political uncertainty.

The source claimed that second tier leaders of both parties have started discussion on various issues including the US grant Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), UML obstruction in the parliament and power sharing among many others.

Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and UML Chairman Oli are expected to meet again on Saturday.

Leaders including NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, General Secretary Gagan Thapa and Communication and Information Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki are participating in the talks. Similarly, UML senior vice chairman Ishwar Pokhrel, vice Chairman Bishnu Poudel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel and Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal are representing UML in the talks.

Prime Minister Deuba is preparing to meet  UML Chair Oli in Balkot today after the Maoist Center’s written decision was delayed.
