Nepali Embassy requests Nepalis in Ukraine to go to Slovakia, Poland or Hungary

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Embassy in Berlin, Germany has requested the Nepalis living in Ukraine to go to Slovakia, Poland or Hungary.

Issuing a statement, the Embassy has reminded that the neighboring Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, which share borders with Ukraine, have opened the border.

The Nepalis stranded in Ukraine are urged to take the alternative route via the neighboring country to return Nepal safely.

The Embassy has also requested to send a photocopy of the passport to the address of the embassy if a passport or travel permit is required to enter the border.

In order to fully comply with the directives issued by the Government of Ukraine and the concerned colleges, universities and companies, the Embassy has asked the students and other Nepalis to keep the passports, identity cards, bank cards and other documents and carry together while travelling a safer place in Ukraine or elsewhere.

According to the Embassy sources, 193 Nepalis in Ukraine have come in contact so far. The Embassy estimates that there are more than 200 Nepalis in Ukraine.
