IPPAN expects new dimension in power trade

KATHMANDU: The Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN) has welcomed the decision and agreement reached at the recently held meeting of the Nepal-India Energy Secretary-Level Joint Steering Committee.

IPPAN Chair Krishna Prasad Acharya expressed the hope that the agreement between Nepal and India would add a new dimension to the electricity trade and further consolidate mutual relations between Nepal and India.

Stating that through the meeting, a base has been created for Nepal to export power up to Bangladesh, he in a statement on Friday said such agreement would play an important role in the development of electricity in the country.
