Coalition in local election 60 percent successful: Krishna Bahadur Mahara

Efforts for consensus to continue till May 12



KATHMANDU: Spokesperson of the CPN-Maoist Center Krishna Bahadur Mahara has said that the alliance has been 60 percent successful in getting common candidates in local election.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Maoist Center in Kathmandu on Monday, leader Mahara said that the coalition would continue their efforts to reach a consensus on the issue till May 12.

“We are going jointly as decided by the coalition. Nomination is also being done jointly in Ghorahi. 60 percent of the alliance has been successful,” he said, adding, “The attempts to reach consensus would continue till evening.”

Mahara said that another list of consensus candidates would come by April 29, the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy. He also added that the final efforts would be made till May 12.
