PM Deuba highlights need to protect current alliance till polls



DAMAULI: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said keeping intact the current five-party alliance till the upcoming elections was the need of the hour.

Speaking at a program organized in Damauli, Tanahu, on Thursday, by the Nepali Congress, Tanahu in his honor, the party president insisted on the need for going with this unity to safeguard democracy.

There is huge contribution of political parties in the coalition government to the ‘protection’ of democracy, the Prime Minister argued, stating, “The presence of this alliance is necessary till the elections to the House of Representatives, and Province Assembly.“

He utilized the moment to call on the party line for concerted efforts to make the party victorious in the upcoming local polls slated for May 13.

Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, who was accompanying with the Prime Minister on the occasion, said the contribution of Tanahu to the democratic movement was significant. “The party should emerge victorious at all levels of elections,” he underscored.
