Newly elected Mayor of Dharan Sampang takes oath of office



MORANG: Harkaraj Rai Sampang, who was elected to the post of Mayor of Dharan Sub-metropolis by contesting as an independent candidate, has taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Newly elected Mayor Sampang was sworn in at a swearing-in ceremony in Inaruwa on Monday.

District Election Officer Kailash Subedi administrated the oath of office to the newly elected Mayor Sampang.

Mayor Sampang returned to Dharan after a 10-minute swearing-in ceremony at Inaruwa.

Sampang, who won with 20,821 votes, has been expressing commitment on issues including squatters’ problems, drinking water, the health sector, and maintaining good governance, among other issues.
