Balen widens lead with 45,613 votes in KMC

Sirjana Singh: 27,183, Keshav Sthapit: 26,309



KATHMANDU: Independent mayoral candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah has maintained the lead against the candidate of the alliance.

According to the vote count updates made public as of 10:15 am, Shah has got  45,613 votes. His contender for Nepali Congress (NC) Sirjana Singh garnered 27,183  votes.

Similarly, Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML is trailing behind with 26,309 votes.

For the post of deputy mayor, UML’s Sunita Dangol is leading the candidate CPN (Unified Socialist)’s Rameshwor Shrestha with a large number of votes.

The local elections were held on May 13.
