Independent mayoral candidate Balen gets 42,463 votes

KATHMANDU: Independent mayoral candidate of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah has garnered more than 42,463 votes. He is 17,773 votes ahead of Nepali Congress candidate Sirjana Singh.

Singh has got 24,690 votes as of Sunday afternoon.

Similarly, Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML has got 23,771 votes.

The local elections were held on May 13.
