Curfew continues in Letang over police personnel’s murder



KATHMANDU: Curfew has continued at Letang in Morang district even today where a security personnel lost her life in a clash.

District Administration Office, had clamped a curfew in ward no. 4 of Letang from 7 am to 4 pm on Monday.

Chief District Officer (CDO) Kashi Raj Dahal said the decision to lift curfew will be taken depending upon the situation.

The curfew has been clamped at Gange Chowk and Kamalpur in ward no 3 and 4 and entire area of western part of Letang to ward no 6 in the north and Morange Khola Kshetra to Morange and Khola area in the east, said CDO Dahal.

A high-level team comprising Pradesh 1 Police Chief DIG Arun Kumar BC, Morang CDO Kashi Raj Dahal among others police personnel on Monday took stock of the situation.

The situation remained tense throughout the day despite curfew clamped on Monday.

Meanwhile, police have taken a dozen youths in the course of screening a culprit who killed police personnel Nirmala Shrestha.

An agitating mob killed police personnel Shrestha during an all-party discussion held on the issue of a school girl who was ‘sexually abused’ by a teacher of Siksha Bikash High School in Kheruwa.
