KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an all-party meeting on Saturday morning.

Main opposition CPN-UML has said it will not take part in the meeting called by Prime Minister Deuba to discuss the local-level elections.

UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal has said that his party has not received an official information regarding the all-party meeting.

“CPN-UML has not officially been informed about the all-party meeting. We knew about it via media outlets. We will not take part in the meeting without official information,” said Rimal.

UML had not participated in the all-party meeting called by Deuba previously, too. Prime Minister Deuba on January 8 had reached Balkot after UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli did not attend the all-party meeting convened on December 19.

Deuba has called the all-party meeting at 9 am today following a meeting with Oli.

To be held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, all the political parties represented in the parliament have been invited, according to the PM’s secretariat.
