KMC bans outdoor advertising in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has banned outdoor advertising, citing that it is making the capital city ugly.

The KMC has issued a notice today saying that it’s attention has been drawn towards the use of outdoor advertising through hoarding/digital boards and other means without acquiring permission and even after the expiry of the licensed period.

The KMC has requested all concerned to remove such advertisements with effect from today.

Even an order by High Court of Patan has banned such advertisements, adds the notice.

KMC spokesperson Naveen Manandhar said that the municipal police will stop any outdoor advertisement carried out in violation of the notice.
