Firing in five districts, hoax bombs in 27 places, voting postponed in 11 centers



KATHMANDU- After the riots during the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections, the police have opened fire in 5 different districts on Sunday.

According to Nepal Police spokesperson DIG Tek Prasad Rai, firing has taken place in Sirha, Bajura, Chitwan, Dolakha and Rautahat so far. Police opened fire in these districts to control the uneven situation and ensure the security of the voters and polling centers.

Similarly, hoax bombs (suspicious) items placed in 27 different places have been disposed of so far.

DIG Rai informed that out of 16 polling centers which got the voting postponed, the polling has been resumed in five places while the voting in the remaining 11 places is in the process of starting.
