NEPSE declines 38.81 points to close at 1,837.60 on Tuesday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by a whopping 38.81 points to close at 1,837.60 points on Tuesday (today). The share market seems to be on a free fall in recent times.

The NEPSE index registered a loss of 2.07 percent today. Similarly, the sensitive index fell 7.00 points to close at 358.87 points.

The index that opened at 1,875.41 made an intraday high of 1,877.65, an intraday low of 1,833.55 and ultimately closed at 1,837.60.

A total of 3,856,538 unit shares of 231 companies were traded throughout the day, resulting in a turnover of Rs 1.22 billion.

Himalayan Distillery Limited was the top stock by turnover today with shares worth Rs 56 million of the stock traded.

Similarly, Sanima Equity Fund was the most-traded stock.

Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was the top gainer, with its stock prices going up by 3.92 percent.

Likewise, Kalika power Company Ltd turned out to be the top loser, with its stock prices falling by 10 percent.
