Earthquake of 4.8 magnitude hits Banke at midnight

Epicenter in Nuwakot



KATHMANDU: An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 hit Nepal’s Banke district and surrounding areas at 1:28 am (midnight) Saturday.

The quake took place with Banke as its epicenter, according to the National Seismological Center.

Shockwaves from the quake were felt in Banke, Bardiya, and even India’s Lucknow.

However, details of losses caused by the quake are yet to come.
