Coalition formed for petty interest will break over time: UML Chair Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has said that his party need not make effort to break the current five-party alliance as the coalition formed for petty interest breaks over time.

Addressing the Bagmati province-level orientation program organized for its cadres by the UML on Wednesday, Chairman Oli said that breaking the ruling coalition does not need any external effort at all.

“Everyone says, let’s break this alliance. But I say ‘no’, this alliance will break itself. Because this is an alliance made for selfish interests. It will break itself over time,” he said.

Unified Socialist Chair Nepal instructs cadres not to depend on coalition alone

CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has instructed the party cadres not to depend only on the power of the alliance.

Addressing an orientation program organized for the people’s representatives elected in the recently-conducted local elections from the Unified Socialist Party, Chairman Nepal directed the cadres, on Wednesday, not to depend only on the power of the coalition.

National cricket coach Pubudu resigns

Nepali national cricket team coach Pubudu Dashanayake resigned on Wednesday.

According to CAN sources, Pubudu resigned from the post citing personal reasons.

The Nepali team returned to Nepal on Tuesday after winning only 1 out of 4 matches on their tour to Scotland.

Pubudu appointed Canada’s cricket team coach

Less than two hours after announcing his resignation from the head coach of the Nepali national cricket team, Pubudu Dassanayake has been appointed as the coach of Canada.

Cricket Canada has made the information public about his appointment as the coach through social media.

Nepal sees 391 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

Nepal recorded a total of 391 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Wednesday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 340 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 51 through the Antigen method.

NEPSE rises by nearly 5 points, with a turnover of Rs 1.73 billion

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) increased by 4.89 points to 2050.59 points on Wednesday.

This is the eighth day in a row when the stock market witnessed a rise.

Today, when the shares of development banks, finance, non-life insurance, manufacturing, microfinance, investment, and mutual fund groups increased, the shares of banking, business, hotel, hydropower, and life insurance groups witnessed a fall.

NC President Deuba appoints Chitra Lekha as party Chief Whip

Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has appointed Chitralekha Yadav as the Chief Whip of the NC party and Min Bishwakarma as the Whip.

Deuba appointed them on Wednesday, NC source said.

Earlier, Bal Krishna Khand was the chief whip of the Nepali Congress.
