Rape accused Pandey sent to jail for investigation

KATHMANDU: Manoj Kumar Jaisi aka Manoj Pandey, accused of human trafficking and child sexual abuse, has been sent to jail for further investigation.

According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, as per Monday’s decision of the Kathmandu District Court, Pandey has been sent to Dillibazaar Jail for investigation.

A police team deputed from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office had arrested Pandey after two First Information Report (FIR) of child sexual abuse, human trafficking and transportation were filed against him and handed over to District Police Range.

The rape survivor and her mother had filed the FIRs against Pandey.

The District Police Range, Kathmandu, had initiated investigation and a case was filed at the Kathmandu District Court through District Public Prosecutors Office on June 10.

The survivor had released video using the social media on June 7, saying Pandey raped her after sedating her in the pretext of a party following a beauty pageant eight years ago.
