Over a dozen families displaced by floods in Damak

JHAPA: A dozen families have been displaced due to the flood in the Ratuwa River in Jhapa district.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, the people living behind the Red Cross building in Damak have been displaced due to the floods triggered by incessant rains.

As many as 13 houses in the area have been damaged by floods, police said.

The families were rescued with the help of Nepal Police and local people and shifted to a safe place and relatives’ houses.

Around 25 houses have been inundated in the Tanguwa settlement in Ward No. 6 of Gauradaha Municipality on Tuesday morning due to the flood in the Ratuwa River.
