Govt launching Covid-19 booster campaign from April 24

KATHMANDU: The government plans to launch a three-day nationwide booster dose campaign against Covid-19 from April 24.

The campaign has been aimed at lessening the cases of deaths from the virus.

However, the country has not recorded any death from coronavirus since March 22.

According to Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, joint spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, they have already directed all concerned to launch the campaign.

About 2,000,000 people have been administered the booster doses so far, the Health Ministry said.

It should be noted that only 10 people had tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

However, the ministry fears that the number of cases could increase as the country is headed towards local election on May 13, and that people would engage in publicity campaigns and meetings.

According to the Ministry, 83.3 percent of the total population has been fully immunized with coronavirus vaccines.
