Hetauda Martyrs’ Memorial receives over 500,000 visitors in last fiscal year



HETAUDA: More than 500,000 domestic and international tourists visited the Hetauda Martyrs’ Memorial during the fiscal year 2082/83, according to the memorial’s management.

Memorial Manager Ramchandra Neupane said that the site welcomed over 500,000 visitors over the past fiscal year, reflecting its growing popularity as a tourist destination.

The memorial is open daily from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. The entry fee is Rs 50 for Nepali citizens, Rs 30 for students, Rs 100 for citizens of SAARC member countries, and Rs 150 for visitors from other countries.

Originally established to honor the 12 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in various democratic movements and national struggles, the memorial has since expanded into a major historical and recreational complex.

The site features the Martyrs’ Memorial Column, Martyrs’ Gallery, Madan Memorial (Madan Batika), Democratic Park, Thaha Column, Tourist Information Center, zoo, fountain park, children’s park, temple, wedding pavilion, greenhouse nursery, swimming pool, and a forest rest area, among other attractions.
