Society, People and the Pathetic Mindset

Consider what Earl Nightingale said: “When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.”

It’s sad but true that we live in a pathetic society where people are so judgmental, biased in regard to caste, class, hierarchy, and gender rather than admiring and appreciating kindness, simplicity, individuality, or say, the talent one possesses.

More than class, power, position gender biases and caste-based discrimination still prevails around us. We are in the 21st era but we still have to raise our voice and fight against issues in regard to caste and gender.

Moreover, the conflict between gender biases is so much stronger than caste-based discrimination. Somewhere or the other, I, too, have personally felt and seen people being so judgmental when there’s some issue regarding gender.

Even some of my relatives still carry the so-called societal set assumptions when it comes to addressing a women’s issue in comparison to a male.

I have encountered many incidents, especially in regard to marriage where family and relatives are often seen being judgmental towards females as compared to males.

They literally force a girl to get married without knowing what she really wants, and if she denies they will take no longer to label her as being rude, stubborn, and what not!

Everyone has the right to raise their voice whether it’s male or female but the set pattern which our society follows have made people react and behave in such a way that women being in trouble is subjected to be weak, and a woman who puts strongly her opinion is subjected to be rude, or say feminist in recent time.

All kinds of possible judgments that can be seen around us are mostly for females. I have not seen people being judgmental towards a male no matter how they are and what they do.

I don’t blame people either as the society we live in has been made in such a way that somewhere down the line women are still subjected to certain chores of work that she is supposed to do is bound by set norms and value no matter how far we have come and developed the society.

On contrary, some women on the other hand have been misusing all the given power in a wrong way to demean males.

Playing and portraying themselves as a victim and using the women’s card is also so not done. We are the ones who speak loud about women’s rights, equality and whenever some unpleasant news comes regarding a women’s issue we take no time to blame males without even bothering to go deep into the issue.

Passing judgment has been the easiest thing in recent days. Every move by another person takes no longer to be judged by another individual because what I feel is every one of us have become a judge who only knows how to pass verdict for others forgetting about their own life story, What an Irony I must say!

There are always two sides to every story and every individual has the right to prove their point but then what’s in the trend these days is people do not bother in listening to the whole story they are just ready to play the role of a lawyer and pass the verdict.

And the most pathetic mindset that we see around us is being so judgmental in regard to the issue that is related to women.

On one hand, women have been portrayed as weak, and a victim, and on the other hand if a strong opinioned woman raises her voice against that she does not appreciate then she will be labeled as being arrogant and what not! I mean what kind of culture is it?

Rather than being judgmental towards others let’s try to figure out and go into the root of the incident whenever we are put in such extreme scenario so that everyone can get equal opportunity, rights, and platform to prove their version of the story either it’s male or a female, after all, we believe inequality right?

I don’t think that any independent, strong-headed, opinionated woman will consider herself as weak, and wants to portray as being a victim.

Everyone has the right to raise their voice whether it’s male or female but the set pattern which our society follows have made people react and behave in such a way that women being in trouble is subjected to be weak, and a woman who puts strongly her opinion is subjected to be rude, or say feminist in recent time.

I believe if we strongly believe in equality, women’s rights then it’s our responsibility to act likewise rather than being judgmental as per our convenience.

And the law, rules, regulation, norms, value every tiny thing should be and is same either it’s male or female. I have seen males being victimized in many scenarios by a female so being male doesn’t mean that they are only the culprit at times the role can be reversed and males can be dominated, traumatized, by a female too.

So, it’s all about the scenario so without hearing, seeing two sides of the story we as an individual mostly judge and pass verdicts on others which indirectly or say directly creates a huge impact on that innocent soul whether it’s male or female.

Therefore, I urge everyone out there to act wisely, smartly, and most importantly rightly also when these issues are so sensitive that can affect someone’s mental stability.

Rather than being judgmental towards others let’s try to figure out and go into the root of the incident whenever we are put in such extreme scenario so that everyone can get equal opportunity, rights, and platform to prove their version of the story either it’s male or a female, after all, we believe inequality right? Think before you act.
