Nepal’s Sagar Guvaju wins gold in open taekwondo championship in Australia



KATHMANDU: Sagar Guvaju of Nepal has won the gold medal in the Sunshine Coast Open Taekwondo Championship held in Australia.

Sagar defeated Australia’s Jane Mansfield by a wide margin in the second round to turn the result in his favor in the men’s 74 kg final.

Sagar, who went to Australia for study last month, is also a player of the national team.

He used to play for the departmental team Tribhuvan Army.
