Krishna Mandir in Patan sees significant number of devotees

Devotees thronged the Krishna Mandir, a temple dedicated to Hindu god Krishna at Patan Mangal Bazaar, since early morning today on the occasion of the Shree Krishna Janmastami festival.

A large number of devotees visit the temple on this day to pay homage and offer worship to lord Shree Krishna.

Bhuwan Bahadur Chitrakar, the caretaker of the temple, said that the temple premises were agog with devotees since 1am today.

He added that devotees continue to stream in since the morning.

Ruling coalition delegates task of forming common opinion to Sitaula-led task force

The ruling coalition has delegated the task of formulating common opinion to the task force led by Krishna Prasad Sitaula.

In a meeting of the ruling coalition on Friday, the 11-member task force formed for seat distribution had briefed the top leaders about the discussions that have taken place so far.

Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital is specialized health institution: President Bhandari

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital has been established as the country’s specialized health institution related to obstetrics and gynecology.

At the 63rd anniversary of the Hospital and inauguration of first Human Milk Bank in Kathmandu on Friday, President Bhandari shared that the Hospital has significant contribution to reduce maternity and infant mortality rate by continuously providing services to women and infants for the past 63 years.

She opined that the Hospital has been providing obstetrics and gynecology services and infant-related health services in a low cost.

Flood and erosion obstructs Melamchi-Helambu road

The Melamchi-Helambu road has been obstructed since Thursday night due to flood.

The flood eroded soil nearby the river which led to obstruction of the road, said Area Police Office, Melamchi.

Locals in ward no 6 and 7 in Helambu rural municipality and Melamchi Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district have been affected due to obstruction of road.

Chair Dahal urges youths to be focused in upcoming elections

CPN Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed the youth rank and file to be focused in upcoming elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly.

Addressing the national gathering of Young Communist League (YCL) in Kathmandu on Friday, Chair Dahal asked them to involve in party’s favor of upcoming election being united.

He said, “The election is coming closer. Youths should play significant role in the election.”

JSP’s political committee discusses election preparation

The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal is in discussions as preparation for the November 20 province and federal parliamentary elections.

In this connection, the party’s political committee held a meeting for three days in the federal capital to discuss chalking out the party’s strategy for the candidate selection process and the qualification of the candidates.

Committee member Dr Surendra Kumar Yadav informed that the meeting held discussions on preparations for the upcoming election, the process of selecting the party’s candidates, criteria for the same and expansion of various party organizations.

Complaint against NOC filed with parliamentary committee

The National Consumers Forum has lodged a complaint with a parliamentary committee against Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for not slashing the price of petroleum products.

Forum’s President Premlal Marhajan submitted an application at the Industry, Commerce, Labor and Consumer Interest Committee under the House of Representatives, demanding an immediate reduction in the price of fuel.

The complaint mentions that the NOC had not reduced the price in spite of the price of fuel continuously decreasing for the past couple of times.

Maoist Center to have 21 office bearers

The CPN Maoist Center is to have 21 office bearers in the party.

In the Standing Committee (SC) meeting of the party held on Friday, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ proposed thus said number of office bearers.

According to a SC member, there will be a chairman, a senior vice-chairman and a vice-chairman in the party.

Similarly, the party will have a general secretary, seven deputy general secretaries, nine secretaries and a treasurer.

Plane lands at Suketar Airport three months after closure

The Suketar Aiport in Taplejung received an aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) this morning, the first flight in the past three months.

The flights to and from the airport were off due to unfavourable weather in this monsoon season.

Prior to this, the NAC made its last flight from Suketar Airport on May 29.
