KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has made arrangements for the coronavirus infected people to cast their votes in the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections.
Announcing the 19-point health criteria on Wednesday, the commission said that special arrangements have been made for the representatives infected with coronavirus.
Joint Spokesperson of EC Komal Prasad Dhamala said that health measures have been adopted to prevent the spread of infection to other voters. He informed that separate ballot boxes would be provided for the infected.
“There will be a health team in every polling station in the election to be held on January 26. There will also be an arrangement to measure the temperature at the polling station,” Dhamala said.
The lawmakers of the province assembly and local level mayors and deputy mayors will be the voters in the NA election.
EC has already identified polling stations in the capitals / temporary headquarters of all the seven provinces.
EC is conducting the election for 19 members of the upper assembly on January 26.
