Lalitpur DAO shuts down all but essential services

LALITPUR: The District Administration Office (DAO) in Lalitpur has decided to temporarily shut down its regular services except for the essential ones for the service-seekers from Thursday in view of the growing risk of Omicron variant of COVID-19.

Issuing a notice signed by Chief District Officer Ghanashyam Upadhyay here on Wednesday, the district administration office said that some of its staffers had contracted COVID-19 and the infection cases were alarmingly on the rise which has led to the closure of the services provided by the administration office until further notice.

The office will, however, provide essential services such as law and order-related works and cases of urgent hearing during this period.

Regular services such as citizenship identity card-related works, national identity cards, and passport-related works among others have been shut down indefinitely, the notice said.
