Simrik Air rescues Spanish climber with injured leg



KATHMANDU: Simrik Air has rescued a Spanish climber who slipped and injured his leg while climbing Mt. Amadablam in Solukhumbu.

Zapata López Soje Manuel, a Spanish citizen, was rescued from the height of 6,300 meters of Mt. Amadablam.

Simrik Air used a long line (rope) rescue for his rescue and flew him to base camp. From the base camp, he was brought to Kathmandu by Simrik Air helicopter for treatment.

Manuel was climbing the Mt. Amadablam on Sunday. On his way to the summit from the first camp, Manuel slipped between the second and third camps. In the process, his leg was bruised. Manuel had gone for mountaineering from 8k expedition.

According to Simrik Air sources, Pilot Siddharth Gurung, rescue specialist Chiring Dendup Bhote and Ang Tasi Sherpa rescued Manuel from Amadablam mountain through a long line. The rescuers used long line (rope) as it was impossible to land a helicopter at that location.
