KATHMANDU: The government has decided to increase surveillance on the Nepal Communist Party (Biplav) leaders owing to the latter’s declaration to influence the election program adversely.
Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, the General Secretary of the NCP outfit, has decided to boycott the elections.
The government decided to increase vigilance after the party tried to spoil the atmosphere of the election by detonating hoax bombs in various places of the country with only a few days left for the election.
While giving updates about the security preparations for the November 20 election, Home Secretary Binod Singh said, on Friday, that the government has increased surveillance on the party’s leaders and workers.
He assured that the election atmosphere will not be disturbed under any circumstances and added that an environment has been created for voters to come to the polling station and cast vote in free and fair manner.
In the press conference organized by the Ministry of Home Ministry, Secretary Singh informed that 903 army bomb disposal teams have been deployed across the country for bomb disposal.
