Three arrested for trading cryptocurrency



KATHMANDU: Three people have been arrested on charges of trading illegal digital cryptocurrency.

The arrested have identified as Anup Mishra, 22, of Birtamod, Jhapa, residing in Kathmandu, Dipesh Thapa of Kavre residing in Chhetrapati and Rahul Chachan of Bafal, Kathmandu.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Kathmandu police arrested them from Mahaboddha, New Road and Kalanki.

According to Superintendent of Police Krishna Koirala, it has been found that they have so far transacted over Rs 667.9 million.

The accused have been sent to the Metropolitan Police Complex, Teku, for necessary action as per the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 BS.
