KMC launches App to provide services digitally

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has launched an app, ‘KMC Sewa Prabaha’, in order to provide online services to the general public in a convenient manner.

KMC Mayor Balendra Shah said the KMC started digital service in order to provide maximum services to KMC dwellers in an easy and smooth way.

Chairperson of KMC-17, Nabin Manandhar, opined that with this, service recipients can get any document and recommendation immediately.

Also the coordinator of KMC Information Technology Committee, Manandhar, shared that training was already imparted to the chairpersons and employees of all wards of KMC to use the app.

One can get general recommendation from the mobile app, he informed. Chief of KMC Information Division, Nabaraj Dhakal, mentioned that the service recipients could get recommendation after uploading necessary documents and paying charge determined by KMC.

App developer Manohar Bhattarai said different issues including important information, emergency contact numbers and complaints of people were incorporated in the app.

The service recipients can receive maximum facilities from a single app, he added, claiming that KMC dwellers can receive smart service.

Other ward chairpersons stressed that it would be fully implemented.

With the implementation of the app, pressure of service recipients would be lessened by 60 to 70 per cent in every ward office, it is said.
