NEPSE declines by 7.57 points Friday



KATHMANDU: On the first Friday trading after the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) decided to operate for two hours on Friday, the stock market index fell by 7.57 points to close at 1971.36.

NEPSE was open from 11 am to 1 pm for transactions today. Along with this, share trading will now take place only 6 days a week. Trading will be closed only on Saturday now.

A total of 2,355,001 shares of 220 companies were traded in 15,163 transactions on Friday. A total of Rs. 736.31 million was traded on this day. Prices of all subgroups except mutual funds declined on Friday. The hydropower sector witnessed the biggest fall in today’s transactions.

The value of Andhikhola microfinance rose the most by 9.99 percent to Rs 596.70 on Friday. The value of CYC Nepal microfinance increased by 4.02 percent. The prices of Lumbini General Insurance and Sanima Life Insurance also increased significantly.

River Falls Power, which has been trading since Thursday, fell the most at 5.93 percent. Its price dropped to Rs 273. Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydro’s price declined by 4.64 percent.

Nepal Telecom had the highest turnover on this day.
