UML will continue obstructing the parliament: Subash Nembang

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, the CPN-UML, is set to continue obstructing the proceedings of the 11th session of the parliament to commence Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons after a program organized at the party’s central office in Balkhu on the occasion of Madan-Ashrit Memorial Day on Tuesday, UML Vice-Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang said that the CPN-UML has not taken any new decision so far.

He said the party had not yet made a new decision on whether to have an unopposed presence in the parliament but was discussing it.

They have been protesting against Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota saying that he discriminated against the UML by refusing to confirm the expulsion of 14 UML lawmakers of the rival faction led by Madhav Kumar Nepal/Jhalanth Khanal. The rival faction split the UML and formed a new party CPN (Unified Socialist) last August.
