UAE gives Nepal a target of 192 runs



KATHMANDU: After Sompal Kami and Lalit Rajwanshi shone in bowling, Nepal got a target of 192 runs from United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the second match of the three-match ODI series played in TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur on Wednesday.

After losing the toss UAE came into bat and lost all the wickets in 43.2 overs and made a total of 191 runs.

Nepal’s Sompal and Lalit took three wickets each to stop UAE at a low total. While Lalit spent 41 runs in 10 overs, Sompal gave 35 runs in 7.2 overs. Apart from this, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Dipendra Singh Airi and Kushal Bhurtel also took one wicket each.

UAE opener Muhammad Wasim scored 50 runs. Wasim hit three fours and four sixes in 46 balls. Alishan Sharafu scored 35 runs, Bhriyat Arvind scored 25 runs, Basil Hamed scored 24 runs, captain CP Rizwan scored 22 runs and Vishnu Sukumaran scored 15 runs.

UAE has come to Nepal for a three-match ODI series. Earlier, in the first match on Monday, Nepal lost to the visiting team by 84 runs.

The last match of the series will be on November 18. The ‘Player of the Match’ of the series will get Rs 20,000 and the ‘Player of the Tournament’ will get Rs 50,000.
