Art exhibition in memory of Bangladeshi artist Sultan



KATHMANDU: A three-day international art exhibition has been organized in memory of Bangladesh’s senior artist SM Sultan. The art exhibition began at Mithila Yen Art Gallery Thamel on Friday.

The exhibition is organized by SM Sultan Fan Artist Group in collaboration with GP Koirala Foundation Art and Culture Department.

The paintings of artists from Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Zimbabwe, America, Bulgaria, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey and Sri Lanka are displayed in the exhibition.

Inaugurating the exhibition, senior artist Gyanendraman Amatya said that all arts in the world have their own characteristics and said that such art exhibitions connect Nepali art to the international level.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal Salahuddin Noman Chaudhary said that it is a pleasure for Bangladeshi artists to take part in exhibition in a beautiful country like Nepal.

Senior artist Malayakumar Kundu of Bangladesh and writer Tirtha Niraula and others said that art connects the cultural relationship between Nepal and Bangladesh while GP Koirala Foundation Art and Culture Coordinator Ramsundar Yadav said that the foundation is working to connect artists from all over the world.

In the exhibition, paintings of 35 artists from Bangladesh, 19 from India, two from Nepal and 69 artists from different countries are on display. (RSS)
