Balen is leading, but the race for Kathmandu mayor isn’t decided

KATHMANDU: Balen Shah, an independent mayoral candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, is leading the vote count with 7,339 votes so far.

CPN-UML’s mayoral candidate Keshav Sthapit is chasing Shah with 3,862 votes.

Similarly, Sirjana Singh of Nepali Congress, who represents the ruling alliance, has received 3,358 votes.

Similarly, Deputy Mayoral candidate of UML Sunita Dangol is leading with 6,346 votes.

Rameshwar Shrestha of CPN (Unified Socialist), who was nominated by the ruling coalition, got 1,784 votes.
