UML Chair Oli instructs lawmakers to focus on local elections

To tell people UML had no involvement in the ratification of MCC Nepal Compact

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has directed party lawmakers to focus on local-level elections.

Speaking at a meeting of the parliamentary party in New Baneswor on Wednesday, Chairman and leader of the Parliamentary Party Oli directed lawmakers to go back to their respective constituencies and start preparations for the election.

During the meeting, Oli expressed concern saying that the ruling parties and the government might conspire to postpone the election scheduled for May 13.

According to Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai, Chairman Oli informed that they have been instructed to win 65 to 70 percent at the local level.

He said, “UML will contest alone in the local level elections all over the country.”

Meanwhile, the party has also decided to tell the people that it had no involvement in the ratification of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Nepal Compact.
