KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on Papua New Guinea (PNG) in a triangular ODI series under the ICC World Cup League 2 today.
The match will be held at Sharjah City in the United Arab Emirates at 11:15 am. Captained by leg spin bowler Sandeep Lamichhane, Nepal has already played two ODI matches with PNG. Nepal had won both the matches.
Prior to flying to the UAE, the Nepali team had played four practice matches in Sri Lanka. During the practice session, it won first three matches and lost the final one. Nepal will play second and third matches with host UAE on March 18 and 21. Similarly, it will play its last match with PNG on March 22.
Nepal, which has already played two ODI series under the league, is in the sixth position with 8 points from eight games.
Already lost 12 matches, PNG is at the bottom of the points table while UAE is in the third position with 16 points from 14 matches.
