CIAA sues three including a forest officer in corruption allegation

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case at the Special Court against three people including then forest officer of District Forest Office Rasuwa, Bishnu Kant Mishra.

The CIAA’s investigation has revealed that Mishra took a bribe of Rs 7 million saying that he would settle the contract of Raktachandan. The Authority has demanded to return the bribe money to the service recipients.

Out of the bribe money CIAA found Rs 4 million at Nabin Kumar Mishra’s bank account. Nabin is the accused Mishra’s son.

The CIAA investigation found that, Lakpa Galgen, the proprietor of Rasuwa Trading Company, who bribed the forest officer Mishra, took the 2.5 million rupees as bribe.

According to CIAA Spokesperson  Shyam Prasad Bhandari, the Authority has filed a case against Galgen demanding Rs 2.5 million from him.
