EC submits final general election report to President
The Election Commission (EC) submitted the report of the final election results to President Bidya Devi Bhandari today.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Dinesh Thapaliya submitted the final report to President Bhandari at Shital Niwas on Thursday.
Now that this has paved the way for the President to call the formation of a new government.
EC submits election report to PM Deuba
The Election Commission has submitted its report on the November 20 election to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The office bearers of the Commission including Chief Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya submitted the report on the November 20 elections and its results to the Prime Minister on Thursday.
NC senior leader Poudel conferred with Ceremony of Japanese Decoration
Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Kikuta handed Ram Chandra Poudel, Former Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, the 2020 Spring Imperial Decoration, Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun.
Poudel received the decoration on April 29, 2020, in recognition of his contributions towards strengthening the relationship between Japan and Nepal and promoting the interchange of members of parliaments of both countries.
EC to organise reception on Dec 19
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) is set to organise a reception on December 19 on the occasion of successfully organising the elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly.
Political meetings not aimed at garnering support for ministerial portfolio: NC leader KC
Nepali Congress (NC) leader Arjun Narsingh KC has said that his meetings with the top leaders of the party were not meant to get any ministerial position.
Leader KC said that he has met with the party’s top leaders including party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, leaders of CPN-UML, Maoist Center and other parties regarding the current political situation.
Dalit community sees representation of 28 PR members in province assemblies
Twenty-eight members have been elected in seven province assemblies from Dalit community under the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system.
Kathmandu alone has 52 lawmakers to be represented in HoR, Bagmati Pradesh Assembly
As many as 52 lawmakers from Kathmandu district will be represented in the House of Representatives and the Bagmati Provincial Assembly.
With the Election Commission announcing the final list of proportional representation members, a total of 52 parliamentarians from Kathmandu will be represented in the HoR and the Provincial Assembly.
