KATHMANDU: The government has started preliminary discussions on the security plan for the upcoming provincial assembly and House of Representative elections slated for November 20.
Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand chaired a meeting of the Central Security Committee at the Ministry on Monday.
Home Ministry Spokesperson Fanindra Mani Pokharel said chiefs of all four security bodies were present in the meeting and began preliminary discussion about the security preparations for the election.
He said the meeting centered on required manpower for election, challenges and viable strategies to mitigate risks, among other issues.
He added said after the topics are discussed then only drafting an election security plan would be possible.
