Independent candidate Balen Shah maintaining his lead in Kathmandu metropolis

Shah received 312 votes; UML's Sthapit 251 and NC's Singh 178

KATHMANDU: Independent candidate for mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Sah has maintained his lead.

While counting of votes in wards 1, 2, and 32 in the metropolis continues, Shah has taken the lead with 312 votes.

A total of 700 votes have been counted so far in Kathmandu metropolis.

CPN-UML candidate Keshav Sthapit is chasing Balen with 251 votes, followed by Nepali Congress and coalition candidate Srijana Singh with 178 votes.

However, these are result of preliminary vote count.

According to the preliminary vote count, Balen secured 101 votes in ward 1, 70 in ward and 141 votes in ward 32.
