Kathmandu Valley alone has more than 10,000 active cases of coronavirus



KATHMANDU: With the hiking of coronavirus cases in the country, the Kathmandu Valley has witnessed an alarming number of active cases.

Out of over 5000 single-day cases on Friday, more than half are in the Kathmandu Valley alone.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, out of 18,235 active coronavirus cases in the country, 10,811 are in the capital valley alone.

The Ministry data reveals that coronavirus infection is spreading like wildfire of late.

When the country got 20,560 samples tested in last 24 hours, 5087 tested COVID-19 positive.

Out of them, there are 2607 in the Kathmandu valley.

According to the Ministry, there were 1913 new cases of coronavirus in Kathmandu, 317 in Bhaktapur and 377 in Lalitpur in the past 24 hours.

With three more cases added in the last 24 hours, there have been 11,613 coronavirus related death in the country till date.
